EMC-cable glands

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is an important quality feature of electrical and electronic products. To ensure trouble-free operation of electrical devices, systems, and equipment, the basic requirement of EMC is that electrical installations should not be affected by electromagnetic interference and should not themselves cause disturbances to other devices and systems. An effective protective measure in such cases is the use of shielded cables and wires; the shielding, which consists of a dense wire mesh or thin metal foils, catches and dampens interference. For EMC-compliant installation of shielded cables and wires in a shielded system, proper connection to the chassis potential is crucial. They need to provide a permanent connection with very low ohmic and inductive resistance between the cable shield and the chassis potential. Jacob GmbH offers a wide range of EMC cable glands and EMC accessories to safely install shielded cables and wires.
